Originating in the 16th Century, today the city of Ponta Delgada is a city that joins both old and modern architecture, moving closer to the ocean, with marinas, public swimming pols and cruise ship docks along its main coastal street. It’s Azores’ largest city, and it offers all throughout the year several festive and cultural activities, as well as being the ideal place to organize visits to São Miguel island’s great natural heritage, since it is home to many tourism operators.
